Happy new year to all to those who care about reading my blog and all. Been busy, going home to the Philippines to see my relatives and catch up to my old friends.

E-mailed the guy and tells me shit not to hide behind my PC. If I were to analyze what he did (calling me arrogant), he almost did the same thing. Now who's the hypocrite?!

Regardless, I plan to let some steam loose with a counselor. For once, I'm taking his advise on that.

Well, I've already cleared up the misunderstanding between me and my other senior colleague in my kendo club. I guess that leaves it as another stained milestone in my life where I have been into arguments. Like the arguments that I've been to, I'm taking this with a huge splotch on my dignity but I still don't regret my actions and will journey on to be a better person. I won't allow this to affect my ego ever.

Normally I'll just my mouth and do nothing about it. But this is something that I have to say otherwise I won't be at peace with myself.

I won't get to the story since I'm a bit pissed except that I was said to be a bother. While I could understand all this, I decided to defend myself and say that even though I may not be needed, I still helped around even without consulting someone I know from my kendo club. I told him that my defense is not that perfect, I was accused of being/trying to be arrogant.

That just really pissed me off to next week. I can take the fact that I didn't further talk to him (I don't want to name names. Don't ask) and I did mess up on the schedule, but calling me arrogant is just....

Damn s*it! I don't know how else I can say about this, except I'm really pissed at the arrogant comment is taking this problem to a different level. I have never been so offended like this in my life.

While I was trying to apologize for my mistake and not wanting to be confrontational as I believe that getting into an argument can make it unsolved and all, it appears that I'm willing to go through this s*it again. This time if this happens again, I won't hold back my anger any longer...

Nifty Minebea PM-9

Quite an interesting modification I found based on the Minebea PM-9 submachine gun.

Changes on it include a detachable silencer, folding stock and a mounted red dot sight. Though it makes it look sexy, I'm sure that the JGSDF doesn't use this mod on their troops when they happen to be in foreign PKOs.

I was seriously going to blog this, but a combination of university enrollment commitment, laziness and fanfiction reading/writing has kept me from doing this, not to mention that I'm watching Armour of God. But that's for another time.
What you see above is the ticket that I got for the fight in Las Vegas. A lot of my countrymen were there to watch the match, and I'm not exaggerating.

When I got there, there wasn't much to do except to wait for the main fight. What surprised me was that I got the chance to pay respects to the Philippine National Anthem (Okay, same thing went for the American one...).

I couldn't hold my excitement down when the Pac-Man was slugging Diaz down for several rounds, though he was good in holding out on his own. I have to admit, Diaz was a good fighter especially when he was holding his ground.

The excitement (and conclusion) came at the 9th round when Diaz and Pacquiao traded blows. But as Diaz tries to land a punch at Pacquiao, the latter ducked and to the surprise of the audience including me, ducked and landed a strong punch at Diaz's left cheek. I was amazed when he went down fast. Not to mention that blood went out of his mouth.

It was wicked cool. I cheered for Pacquiao as best as I can while trying to make my voice sound loud. It was then that I felt proud for being a Filipino.

I can't say the same for my old man and my bros for they lost some money in betting on Diaz.

Happy holidays to everyone!

Lately I've been in vacation to Whistler and been running in the rain, with a very bit bloated lung that could explode if I run some more. Luckily, I'm in the house as I do this.

It's snowing a bit early in Vancouver this year. So I can't wait to see how things will go in 2008 since I'm currently in Simon Fraser University.

I can't express how my feelings for the holidays would be. But it would be like this as I would have Ken Nakajima express it on my behalf...

Yesterday was the best Kendo class ever. Only less than around 12 kendo beginners were attending the club (me included...). I was wondering what happened to the others, but I could care less about them in the long run anyway.

Gundam 00 Impressions

Based from the first two episodes, it appears that Gundam 00 is on a roll... Using the AD calendar and has some Gundam traditions removed like an international world government and space colonies. Makes me wonder if the radicals will do an orbital elevator drop. Hmm.... I'm quite intrigued with the protagonist, Setsuna Seiei. Despite being a Kurd of Iraqi descent, his first name is Japanese (I'm not sure with his surname) and talks like Heero Yuy. But I don't mind about that, that's what makes him cool in his Gundam Exias. Second is with Lockon Stratos. The first name, I can see a pun (Lock on, since he's using a sniper gundam) since he uses Gundam Dynames with a Haro as a navigator. Allelujah Haptism is a name that interests me. Aside from using the Mobile Suit/Armor Gundam Kyrios, his name's another pun on Hallelujah and Baptism. Geez, can't they come up with a better name?

As for Tieria Erde, he kicks ass and speaks later with Gundam Virtue. It looks like that it was too fat and has a giant GN Bazooka that speaks for him. HE he he... Also, he looks like an Onna!

All in all, the Celestial Being Gundam Meisters are quite interesting. I'll try and post more Gundam 00 stuff in the future.

Been watching the first two episodes. So far, so good. Animation and storyline is really good. At least it's a good departure from SEED.

Unfortunately, I'm watching a bit more of Episode 2 right now. I'll rant on the first two episodes once I'm done tomorrow.

Kendo

I've been busy recently attending the Kendo Club at the university, which is why I haven't updated this blog (Okay! I've done some fanfics too...).

Kinda interesting when I first heard about the club, since I took Arnis before in high school, which at the time was part of my curriculum.

I'm currently a beginner, which is why I can't wear the face helmet, breastplate and gloves on for another semester. Heck, I'm planning to stay on in kendo.

Only question if I can still do it.

Anime Evolution 2007, Day 3

Yep! Today was the last day of Anime Evolution. The first thing I had to do was to see Luci in the Q&A panels in SFU. Since traffic was murder on my way, I wasn't able to sit on the entire panel, but partially got to listen in on some of the stuff they were talking about, such as censorship in dubbing and on how they did their job when they're in the booth. Nice panel, but they're the only ones I had to attend since I couldn't attend Lisa Ann's due to a little mixup yesterday.

Attended the Anime Auction. Was cool to see most of the VAs there, including Brad Swaile! A lot of good stuff was auctioned in there. I swore it brought lots of laughters when a bid war started on the Black Cat Volume 5 Collector's Edition. Think the last bid was 200 bucks. Man! Total ripoff, but that's auction...

Back with the cosplayers, I saw someone do a Naked Snake impression with a Cardboard box on his head. Another were cosplayers doing Guile and Charlie. Total cool points goes to a girl who did Shampoo! If only she looked a bit Chinese... (Sorry! Only aiming for realist points!) . Aside from that, nothing much.

The closing ceremonies were pretty rad. Lot of winners with J-Rock band Back-On being guest stars and judging two finalists for Anime Idol, with the winner being a cosplayer dressed like Yuna (I swear, she was damn pretty!!!). Nice to see one of them speak English (Though I'm not sure who it was, totally unfamiliar...). The best original cosplayers were two guys doing the Prince from the latest Prince of Persia games for the PS2/PSP/etc. and another who did an Assassin-like costume (Not from FS/N, I assure you.). The other best was a trio dressed as Kadaj, Integra Hellsing and Seras Victoria. The brought some laughts when the anti-armor bullet in the fake Harkonnen turned out to be a drinking bottle. LOL! The closing presentation prior to a concert from Moo-ve (Again, haven't heard of these guys...) was a Phoenix Wright-like stage play. Really brought the damn LOL down for everyone! Wished they used the Japanese names instead...

I must apologize again for not having pictures for the 3rd day of the con, brother refused to tag along. Maybe next year, I'll have my own camera and perhaps, volunteer as Con staff (Perhaps, security.). I, however, will upload the photos from day 2. Promise!

When I become head of con security, all female security staff members shall wear mini-skirts!

Anime Evolution 2007, Day 2

Just went back to Anime Evolution on Day 2. So far, it's been the same.

I was able to watch the Anime Idol contest and it was loads of fun to see a lot of cosplayers in the area. Bro came along and took a photo of a cosplayer doing a Darth Vader. I'll get a photo of him and the others up maybe by tomorrow. Bro's the only one who has access to a digicam. Not to mention the cosplay cafe. Totally cute to see girls dressed up as maids. Too bad they don't do "other things", but that may irk the higher ups of the university, so I'll leave it to your perverted thoughts about it.

I think I recalled someone cosplaying as a SV2 officer from the Patlabor series. Nice getup, if I may say.

Just missed Q&A sessions with Lisa and Luci. But this time, I'm partially to blame since I didn't get a copy of the program guide for Anime Evolution 2007. Now that I've read my bro's copy, I can still head back to SFU tomorrow and sit down on one of them.

Now I just cross my fingers and pray that I'll be able to meet Luci again tomorrow on Sunday.

On the plus side, I've gotten myself an Anime Evolution 2007 shirt. Yayyyy!!!!

Anime Evolution 2007, Day 1

Have went to my anime con, Anime Evolution 2007 in Simon Fraser University today. Apologies if no pictures are available. Can't get my hands on a digi cam...

Unfortunately, I went in the afternoon due to my habit of dozing off late whenever possible, especially since it's summer time. I still went anyway, driving to the university for my first time since taking the Class 5 license test.

Con's really interesting. I did like the Anime Idol part; a lot of cosplayers were there. Majority were Bleach, Naruto and Full Metal Alchemist. The rare ones I saw was a cosplayer dressed up as an RPD Special Police Force officer. Heh, nice choice. Recent ones I'm seeing so far are Fate Stay Night and FFVII.

The bad one was some girl cosplaying as Saber. Would've been cool if she bleached her hair.

I'm not sure if I missed the con so bad that I wasn't able to meet with the guests of Anime Evolution '07. I really wanted to meet Luci Christian and Lisa Ann Beley.

Can't cry over spilled milk for this one. I'm heading back there tomorrow. Should be better than I expected, I hope.

I'll just go grab an Anime Evolution 2007 shirt though if I can spare the money.

MGS 4 Trailer details

A lot of good things were shown in the trailer. I've watched it a month ago and I was impressed with the add-ons around here.

For one thing, Kojima was right with the term "NO PLACE TO HIDE." To counter this, Snake uses a device called the Octocamo, a special sneaking suit that allows the user to blend it instantly without being spotted. Now this is the height of the game since Snake can use it to sneak into various areas undetected since the first part of the game is in the Middle East.

Another thing I like here is the addition of items and weapons such as the FN P90 smg and the big, metal drum can that can used with a drum can roll attack. Super ubber! Some items have returned, like the Mosin Nagant. Strange though, I wonder what the producers had in mind with this? Not that I don't mind the tranq features of it.

Well, the RPG-7 did return. The weapon was seen in the 1st Metal Gear game and returned to MGS3. This thing packs a punch and I really liked when Snake used it against the PMC forces.

Also, Snake has a Solid Eye cam on his left eye. So there's no need to have radar, thermals and NVGs. Instead, the SE should take care of that without any sort of problems.

The alliance system is also a new thing here. In MGS 4, you can ally with Arab militiamen (At least for the Middle East stage) or the well-equipped PMC forces. Now I heard that even if you ally with the PMCs, the Gekkos will still recognize you as an enemy, so you're still screwed on that part though.

Well, that's it for me summarizing that you'll expect from this trailer.

Been dabbling at translating Kyo, made by the mangakas of Spriggans, into English as a way to see if my Japanese comprehension is still okay. So far, so good. I'll need to work on this soon. Perhaps an assessment is due...

College crisis

Right now, I'm having a mid-life crisis in changing schools due to my insanely low GPA. The requirement is a 2.00, but I have at least a point in order to have a greater chance in entering another school. The only options are to start one more semester to change it or simply go all-out and apply to SFU and UVic (University of Victoria).

So far, my pre-requisites in entering UVic are okay, but I'm not sure about total guarantees of admissions. I'll just have to hope for a miracle that it can happen...

Code Geass

Sorry I haven't updated. Had to attend to personal needs such as exams and clearing out any college-related priorities since I'm going to transfer to a university hopefully for this Fall. On the way to do these, I've recently watched a new anime called Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.

Appears to be an AU, where the United States and Canada never existed, replacing with a war-mongering country called the Holy Empire of Britannia (Kinda reminds me of Iraq though). The empire had conquered a country in the Middle East, the Pacific Islands, the Philippines and with a recent air and ground invasion against the Japanese military (WWI and WWII still existed) with a new invention called Knightmare Frames, a reminder to viewers since the anime is done by Sunrise.

So there's this kid named Lelouch, disowned son of the King of Britannia, vowing to get rid of him after seeing the Britannian Armed Force wipe the dust of the Japanese military with one fall swoop. The cool part starts after he receives the power of Geass from a strange woman called C.C., who's voiced by Yukana. Loved her voice and 'tis the first time I've seen here in a serious role aside from the controversial role of Four Murasame in the Zeta Gundam movie remakes.

I'll leave it there. If you peeps are reading this, start watching it. The uniqueness of the mechas are original here, though some parts of the series would remind you of Gundam SEED.

Aside now, does anyone notice that Suzaku Kururugi is like Kira Yamato, only too pacifist...
